Helen Taylor

Rose Hunter
Survivor of the Sex Trade
Rose Hunter was in the sex trade for 10 years.
She was a sex worker at massage parlours, brothels and did some time as an escort.

After breaking free in 2008, she turned her pain into poetry. She is the author of six books, with her most recent one titled: Body Shell Girl.
​
She says, "I hope it might be able to help others who have been through similar experiences and shine a light on this industry from a survivor’s point of view"

Amanda Blackwood

For Amanda, life was never easy. From child sexual abuse, to homelessness to then being sex trafficked 3 different times. After escaping one of her traffickers, he tormented her by uploading multiple videos of her abuse onto pornography websites.

He thought he'd always have her.

Today Amanda is free. She is happily married, she's the author of 13 books with another two on the way and one of the toughest women you'll ever meet.

Paul Lavergne
Psychotherapist
Paul is a registered psychotherapist and a member of the College of Psychotherapists in Ontario, Canada.
​
He's in private practice, seeing clients for a variety of issues, however his expertise lies in the area of 'compulsive sexual behaviours'. For the past 12 years he has worked helping those struggling with pornography, sex addiction, sex buying and relationships.
​
Aside from therapy, Lavergne also leads his own youtube channel where he interviews people from all around the world on the issues of: sexual exploitation, sex trafficking, pornography and the sex trade. He also teaches classes on how to treat those with compulsive sexual behaviours.

His extensive knowledge and experience, combined with his undeniable devotion to these issues, allows us to understand the mind, of a sex buyer...

Suzie Skirvin
Survivor
Suzie was trafficked in one of the most common places of the 'legal' sex trade. A strip club.
​
She was groomed into what she believed was a secure and safe relationship, when in fact it turned out to be the complete opposite. The man in whom she seeked safety, sold her, abused her and profited off of her body.
​
Suzie now works in law enforcement, where nobody will lay a hand on her ever again.
She's been brave not only for herself but for her son too, "He's taught me what real love is"

Mandy Sanchez

Mandy Sanchez holds a doctorate in Sociology and specialises in Criminology and Women's Studies. Her background is in violence against women and domestic violence, she says, the psychological process of trapping women into the porn industry is a very similar dynamic.

Alexandria Dean

If one sentence could describe Alexandria's life, it's definitely the title of her book: From Heaven to Hell and Back a Few Times.
​
She does not refer to herself as a 'survivor' or a 'victim', she says she has redefined those two words and calls herself and others 'redeemed', this is because "once a survivor is safe and they have full knowledge of their safety, they are redeemed"
